speed up blackberry

First thing to check on your blackberry would be the amount of device memory that is available. To do this go to the options menu, then scroll down to the status menu and click in the trackball to enter. Once in the status menu, check how much file free you have. You should want around 10 MB or 10000000 Bytes or more available. Either way, follow the next couple of steps to clear out some space and automate memory cleanings...
Go back to the standard options menu, then go to "advanced options", then click on "applications". From here you should look for any Third party software that you may have installed or no longer use. Once you found a couple that you no longer need, push the menu button and delete it. Once deleted, it may prompt you to restart your device. You can either do this now or later depending on how many applications you want to remove.
This next step is really cool. We are going to enable an option that cleans the memory every 1 minute in your device. As you know, when you run programs, etc, they store data temporarily in memory. The problem here, is that some programs do not release all of their contents from the memory after you exit them. The next step shows you how to automatically configure the built in blackberry memory cleaner.
From the Options menu, scroll down and go into "Security Settings". Once their scroll down and enter the "Memory Cleaning" menu.
First you will want to change the status from disabled (default setting) to enabled. Once you have enabled it, you can set it to clean the memory when idle. enable that option and set the interval to how often it cleans the memory. I have my blackberry set to clean the memory every 1 minute. You can also add a memory cleaner icon to your home menu if you do not want to set it to automatically clean when idle.
